How can I use your museum passes?
Answer
If you are a Hamden resident with a Hamden Library Card:
Go to the Library website and click on the orange bar labeled "Museum Passes". Then click on "Reserve a Museum Pass". A museum listing comes up for the current three days. If you want a pass for a later time, use the calendar on the upper right hand side of the page to enter your date.
Once you have chosen your date, choose the Museum you want and click on the red "Request Item" button. To view the discount offered for the pass, click on the name of the museum next to the request button.
Please note that some passes are print on demand (you can print at your house, or come to the Library and we can print it for you), and some passes must be picked up and returned to the Miller Library.
After you have clicked on the button to reserve your pass you will be asked to enter your Library Card number and some other information.
Passes are valid only for the day requested. Print on demand passes do not have to be returned.
You are limited to two reservations per week. The same pass may only be reserved twice per month.
If you are not a Hamden Resident:
You must have a current library card from the town where you live. You can only reserve a pass on the day you want to use it, in person at the Miller Library. To find out what passes are available go to the Library website and click on the orange bar labeled "Museum Passes" and then click "Reserve a Pass". The passes that are available will have an orange "button" next to them stating "Request Item". If the button is green and says "Booked" it is not available for that day. To view the discount offered for the pass, click on the name of the museum next to the request button.
Please note that some passes are print on demand which can be printed for you at the Miller Library. Some passes say "Pick up/Return" and they must be picked up and returned to the Miller Library.
